Star Wars: Age of Rebellion — Han Solo #1, published on May 1, 2019, by Marvel Comics, explores the internal tug-of-war Han Solo faces between his life as a self-serving scoundrel and his growing commitment to the Rebel Alliance.
Plot Summary: "The Scoundrel's Code"
Set shortly after the destruction of the first Death Star, Han and Chewbacca are finally flush with credits from Princess Leia and are ready to clear Han's debt with Jabba the Hutt.
- One Last Favor: Before they can leave, Luke Skywalker asks Han for "one last favor"—delivering vital supplies to a Rebel outpost.
- The Temptation: En route, Han runs into an old smuggling acquaintance named Akko. Akko tempts Han with a high-stakes heist on the planet Alderaan (now a field of asteroid debris) that could triple his earnings.
- The Conflict: Han attempts to balance both missions, nearly risking the Rebel cargo for personal gain. However, when his old associates are captured, Han chooses to rescue them and ultimately delivers the Rebel supplies, reinforcing that he is more of a hero than he cares to admit.
- The Cycle Continues: The issue ends with Han successfully delivering the supplies, only to be immediately asked for another favor, highlighting his inescapable bond with the Rebellion.
