Star Wars: Age of Rebellion - Jabba the Hutt #1, released on May 22, 2019, is a canonical one-shot comic from Marvel's Age of Rebellion series. Written by Greg Pak and illustrated by Emilio Laiso, Roland Boschi, and Marco Turini, it explores the ruthless nature of the galaxy's most infamous crime lord through a story about the "Art of the Deal".

Plot Summary: "Tusken Wind"

The story centers on a rare and incredibly expensive Tatooinian beverage known as Tusken Wind.

  • The Delegation: A group of Tusken Raiders visits Jabba's Palace to complain about Jawas and Imperial trespassing on their lands. Jabba, initially indifferent, realizes the potential for profit and manipulation.
  • The Trap: Jabba lures a group of greedy traders from Canto Bight, a Jawa clan, and a corrupt Imperial officer into a confrontation over a supposed stash of this sacred wine.
  • The Outcome: Using Boba Fett to orchestrate the chaos from afar, Jabba has all three meddling factions eliminated. This secures his alliance with the Tuskens, who view him as a protector, while he maintains his absolute control over Tatooine's illegal trade.

Key Characters

  • Jabba the Hutt: Depicted at the height of his power, showing his strategic brilliance rather than just his brutality.
  • Boba Fett: Jabba's primary enforcer who executes the tactical components of the Hutt's plan.
  • Bib Fortuna: Jabba's majordomo who assists in managing the palace's visitors.
  • Princess Trios (Mentioned): The story briefly touches upon the broader Imperial presence in the Outer Rim.
