Star Wars: Age of Resistance — Supreme Leader Snoke #1 is a canon one-shot comic published by Marvel Comics on September 11, 2019. Written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Leonard Kirk, the story provides a rare look at the brutal training Kylo Ren endured under Snoke before the events of The Force Awakens. 

Plot Summary: "Fail. Or Kill It."

The issue highlights Snoke's sadistic teaching methods, designed to break Ben Solo's spirit and sever his emotional ties to his past. 

• The Test of Fear: On a rocky planet in the Rarlech system, Snoke suspends Kylo Ren over jagged rocks with the Force, forcing him to confront his fear and turn it into rage to save himself.
• The Trip to Dagobah: Snoke takes Kylo to the Cave of Evil on Dagobah—the same dark side nexus where Luke Skywalker once faced a vision of Darth Vader.
• The Vision: Inside the cave, Kylo is forced to confront visions of his past, including his parents and Luke Skywalker. While he successfully kills the vision of Luke, he hesitates to kill his parents, instead choosing to destroy the entire cave with a massive burst of Force energy to hide his failure from Snoke.
• Snoke's Manipulations: Throughout the issue, Snoke constantly compares Kylo unfavorably to Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, labeling Luke's compassion as a "weakness" that held Kylo back from his true potential.
