Plot Summary

The issue follows a multi-pronged diplomatic and military mission to end a war between two Outer Rim planets, Vekura and Syrinx Prime. 

• The Conflict: The planet Vekura has invaded Syrinx Prime after centuries of tension. Chancellor Valorum dispatches the Jedi to broker a peace treaty.
• Diplomatic Mission: On Vekura, Qui-Gon Jinn and headstrong new Jedi Knight Berem Khana attempt to negotiate a ceasefire with General Lafco.
• Battle on Syrinx: Simultaneously, Yoda, Mace Windu, Ki-Adi-Mundi, and Obi-Wan Kenobi defend Syrinx Prime from invaders.
• The Turn: While negotiators struggle, Adi Gallia and Seera Longa discover a secret prison on Syrinx Prime, revealing that neither side is telling the full truth about the war's origins.
• Assassination Attempt: As Qui-Gon and Berem return to their ship, they are ambushed by a mysterious masked assassin. Although they survive, it is discovered that the attacker was specifically targeting Qui-Gon.
