Star Wars: Shattered Empire # 1 2015 VF/NM

Star Wars: Shattered Empire #1 (officially titled Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Shattered Empire) was released by Marvel Comics on September 9, 2015. Written by Greg Rucka and illustrated by Marco Checchetto, it is a canonical story that bridges the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. 

Plot and Setting

The issue begins during the final moments of the Battle of Endor and explores the immediate aftermath of the Second Death Star's destruction. 

• The War Continues: Despite the death of Emperor Palpatine, the Rebel Alliance discovers that the Empire remains a threat. A strike team led by Han Solo investigates an Imperial outpost on the far side of Endor, uncovering data that reveals the Empire has extensive contingency plans.
• Legacy Connections: The story introduces Shara Bey and Kes Dameron, the parents of Resistance pilot Poe Dameron. Shara is an A-wing pilot who saves Luke Skywalker from being shot down as he escapes the Death Star.
