Suicide Squad # 1 2021 titled "Assault on Arkham, Part 1," launched Volume 7 of the series as part of the Infinite Frontier initiative. Published on March 2, 2021, the issue was written by Robbie Thompson with art by Eduardo Pansica. 

The story introduces a shift in the status quo for Task Force X, focusing on a more aggressive recruitment strategy led by a back-in-control Amanda Waller. 

• The Field Leader: Peacemaker (Christopher Smith) takes over as the field leader, moving the team away from traditional "avenging" toward strictly government-mandated lethal operations.
• Arkham Infiltration: Waller sends a new iteration of the Squad into Arkham Asylum with a specific mission: to "recruit" the lethal Court of Owls assassin, Talon (William Cobb).
