Superboy: The Man of Tomorrow #1 is the April 2023 premiere issue of a six-issue DC Comics limited series written by Kenny Porter with artwork by Jahnoy Lindsay. The book famously made its way to print as the fan-voted winner of the 2022 DC Round Robin tournament.

Plot Synopsis

Following the massive reality-shaking events of Dark Crisis, Conner Kent (the clone Superboy) finds himself back in the DC Universe but deeply struggling to find his identity. With Metropolis already heavily protected by Clark Kent, Jon Kent, and Kara Zor-El (Supergirl), Conner realizes the Earth doesn't really need his protection. Feeling like an redundant outsider within his own "Superman Family," he decides he doesn't want to just rely on his old Young Justice teammates (Tim Drake, Cassie Sandsmark, and Bart Allen).

Prompted by a conversation on the Kent farm, Conner visits the Fortress of Solitude. He uses an unstable teleporter built with updated Zeta Beam technology to leave Earth behind. Armed with his classic bravado and swagger, Superboy heads deep into the cosmos to carve out a brand-new heroic path where people actually need his help. This cosmic journey eventually leads him to form an alliance with a spacefaring group called the Cosmoteers to stop the alien geneticist Dominator X.
