Superman #1 Rocafort Variant 2016 NM-

Superman # 1 published by DC Comics on August 3, 2016, begins a new era for the Man of Steel under the DC Rebirth banner. Written by Peter J. Tomasi and Patrick Gleason, with art by Gleason, the issue focuses on a mature Superman striving to protect the world while raising his young son, Jonathan Kent. 

Core Storyline: "Son of Superman, Part One" 

The story picks up following the death of the "New 52" Superman. The older, "Pre-Flashpoint" Clark Kent takes his place in the universe, working with his wife, Lois Lane, to maintain a quiet life on a farm for their son. 

• A Family Affair: Superman balances his global duties with teaching Jon about responsibility and his emerging powers. This iteration emphasizes Clark Kent as a father and a husband.
• A Quiet Threat: The issue introduces a seemingly benevolent but deeply unsettling new character: a man who claims he is the resurrected "New 52" Superman. This character soon proves to be a dangerous, unstable impostor.
• The Mystery: The main focus is on the emotional and moral challenges Superman faces as he tries to be a good father to a powerful, naive boy in a dangerous world, all while dealing with the mystery of who this new "impostor" is.
