Superman #82 is a landmark comic book published by DC Comics with a cover date of October 1993. Written and illustrated by Dan Jurgens with inks by Brett Breeding, this issue is titled "Back for Good!" and serves as the explosive climax to the "Reign of the Supermen!" storyline.

Story Summary

The issue brings the massive "Death and Return of Superman" saga to its ultimate peak. Armed with a Kryptonian battlesuit and joined by his allies—Superboy, Steel, Supergirl, and Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)—the recently resurrected, long-haired Superman makes his final stand in the ruined Engine City.

Superman faces off directly against the treacherous Cyborg Superman (Hank Henshaw). In a dramatic confrontation, the Cyborg attempts to kill Superman using a lethal blast of pure Kryptonite energy. However, the Eradicator intercepts the beam, sacrificing himself. The Kryptonite radiation passes through the Eradicator's body, filtering out the lethal elements and unexpectedly restoring Superman to full power. Recharged, Superman shatters the Cyborg, reclaiming his title as Earth's true protector once and for all.
