Superman: At Earth's End 1995 NM-

Superman: At Earth's End (1995) is an infamous standalone, prestige-format one-shot comic book published under DC Comics' Elseworlds imprint. Serving as a loose narrative sequel to the miniseries Kamandi: At Earth's End, the book has gained massive internet notoriety for its over-the-top, deeply bizarre, and aggressively "edgy" 1990s aesthetic—most notably featuring a heavily armed, Santa-Claus-bearded Superman.

The Post-Apocalyptic Plot

• The Setting: The story takes place in the year 21102 A.D., 150 years after Earth has been utterly devastated by two separate apocalypses (global warming and a deadly plague).
• A Weakened Man of Steel: Because of a nuclear winter and heavily polluted skies, Superman has been cut off from the yellow sun for decades. This has severely drained his powers, caused him to visibly age, and initially gave him amnesia.
• The Conflict: An elder Superman recovers his memories at a floating sky fortress run by the Biomech Sevens, a race of logical cyborgs led by Ben Boxer. When the cyborgs reveal their plans to permanently purge the ruins of Gotham City with a nuclear bomb to wipe out its mutated populace, Superman objects and travels to the surface to investigate.
• The Horrors of Gotham: Upon arriving in Gotham, Superman is attacked by monstrous, mutated "bat-men" that eerily bear the facial features of Bruce Wayne. He is rescued by a mohawked gang of pre-teen motorcycle riders whose parents have been kidnapped.
• The Outrageous Climax: Superman discovers that the villains behind Gotham's horrors are a pair of mad scientists known as the DNA Diktators. The Diktators have stolen Batman's corpse out of his tomb and are mixing his DNA with bats to clone an army. The shock twist reveals that the twin leaders of the DNA Diktators are actually two clones of Adolf Hitler.
• The Expunger: To fight off the horde, a heavily weakened Superman completely abandons his traditional pacifism. He wields an absurdly gigantic, heavily wired cybernetic gun called the "Expunger" to violently blast away the mutations and execute both Hitler clones. He eventually dies of his wounds and is cremated in a fire.
