Tales of the New Teen Titans # 3 1982 NM

Tales of the New Teen Titans #3 (1982) is the third installment of a four-part limited series that explores the origin stories of the newer team members. This issue specifically focuses on Changeling (Garfield Logan), formerly known as Beast Boy. 

Plot Summary: The Origin of Changeling

Similar to the other issues in this series, the story is framed by a campfire discussion where the Titans share their personal histories. 

• Childhood and Powers: Gar recounts how his medical researcher father accidentally gave him shape-changing abilities and his signature green skin while trying to cure him of a rare jungle disease.
• Tragedy and the Doom Patrol: After his parents died in a flood, Gar was placed under the cruel guardianship of Nicholas Galtry before being adopted by Steve and Rita Dayton (Mento and Elasti-Girl), allowing him to join the Doom Patrol.
• The Arsenal Conflict: Gar details his later life as an actor on the TV series Space Trek: 2022 and a final confrontation with Galtry, who had assumed the identity of the villain Arsenal to kidnap Gar's girlfriend, Jillian Jackson, for ransom.
