Talon # 0 2012 VF/NM

Talon # 0, published by DC Comics in November 2012 (cover date January 2013), serves as a prelude to the "Court of Owls" spin-off series. It introduces First Appearance Calvin Rose, the only Talon to have ever escaped the shadowy organization and lived. 

The issue focuses on the origin story of Calvin Rose, set years before the "New 52" present day. 

• The Escape: As a child, Calvin was a gifted escape artist in a circus who was forcibly recruited by the Court of Owls and trained to be one of their elite assassins (Talons).
• A Change of Heart: During his training, he falls in love with a young girl named Casey, another captive of the Court. When ordered to kill her as a final test, Calvin refuses and escapes the compound with her, defying the Court's strict rules and becoming their most wanted fugitive.
• Life on the Run: The story fast-forwards to his adult life in the present, where he works as a construction worker in an attempt to live a normal life.
• The Ambush: The Court of Owls eventually tracks him down. Calvin is ambushed and must fight for his life, using his unique skills to evade capture. He is rescued by a mysterious benefactor, setting the stage for the main series where he becomes a vigilante targeting his former masters.
