Teen Titans #1, released on September 28, 2011, marked the launch of a new volume as part of DC Comics' New 52 company-wide reboot. Written by Scott Lobdell with art by Brett Booth, this issue introduces a new origin for the team centered on Red Robin (Tim Drake) assembling young heroes to combat a shadow organization known as N.O.W.H.E.R.E.. 

Plot Synopsis

  • The Threat of N.O.W.H.E.R.E.: An international organization called N.O.W.H.E.R.E. begins systematically abducting or killing super-powered teenagers.
  • Red Robin’s Mission: Tim Drake, now operating as Red Robin, notices this pattern and sets out to protect his peers, even as he is pursued by N.O.W.H.E.R.E. agents himself.
  • Assembling the Team: The issue introduces a new dynamic for Kid Flash (Bart Allen), whose reckless attempt at heroism in Westchester results in a massive fire, and Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark), a powerhouse thief reluctant to join any group.
  • The Superboy Connection: The story concludes with the reveal of Superboy, who is being held and studied by N.O.W.H.E.R.E. as a living weapon.
