Thanos # 1 2017 NM-

Thanos # 1 (2017), the first issue of the Thanos Vol. 2 series, marks the Mad Titan's return to the cosmic stage in a story titled "Thanos Returns". It establishes a new status quo where the universe's most feared villain is secretly vulnerable. 

• The Return: After a period of absence, Thanos returns to his base of operations, the Black Quadrant, only to find it has been usurped by his former lieutenant, Corvus Glaive.
• Brutal Reclamation: Thanos violently fights his way through Glaive's forces. Upon reaching the throne, he easily defeats the traitor and forces him to commit suicide with his own broken blade.
• A Secret Weakness: As the issue ends, it is revealed that Thanos is suffering from a mysterious, life-threatening illness. While alone on his throne, he begins to cough up blood, realizing that he is dying.
• Conspiracy in the Shadows: Elsewhere, Thanos' son Thane—now allied with Lady Death—is revealed to be plotting his father's final demise. They recruit Starfox (Thanos' brother) and Tryco Slatterus (Champion of the Universe) to help hunt down the weakened Titan.
