The Amazing Spider-Man #1, in April 2025, Marvel Comics launched a new volume marking the start of a fresh era under writer Joe Kelly and artist Pepe Larraz. This relaunch serves as a "new beginning" following the conclusion of the previous long-running volume by Zeb Wells.

Relationship Status
Peter is shown on a double date with his best friend Randy Robertson and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Shay, a nurse who specializes in mental health. Their relationship is described as being on "probation" as they navigate Peter's complex life.
Background: "8 Deaths of Spider-Man"
While this #1 issue marks a clean relaunch, Joe Kelly also wrote a preceding arc in late 2024 (beginning in issue #61 of the previous volume) titled "8 Deaths of Spider-Man". In that storyline:
Doctor Doom, now the Sorcerer Supreme, appoints Spider-Man as his champion to fight the eight "Scions of Cyttorak".
Spider-Man is gifted a magic-powered suit and eight extra lives to survive this ordeal, though each resurrection is described as excruciatingly painful.
