The Incredible Hulk # 396 published in August 1992, concludes the "Frost Bite" storyline and the broader Las Vegas arc during Peter David's legendary run. The issue features the "Professor Hulk" incarnation—a version that combines the Green Hulk’s strength with Bruce Banner’s intellect.

"Frost Bite" (Part 2 of 2)

The story revolves around the Hulk seeking justice for the murder of his former employer and friend, Michael Berengetti.

  • Round 2 with Doctor Octopus: The issue opens at the Coliseum Casino, where Doctor Octopus is on a rampage after being harassed by security. The Hulk intervenes and easily defeats him, knocking him out with a single flick of his finger.
  • The Unlikely Team-Up: The Punisher (Frank Castle) arrives disguised as one of Joe Fixit’s men. Although their methods clash—the Hulk refuses to let Castle execute a disarmed Doc Ock—the two join forces with members of the Pantheon and the local police to dismantle the syndicate responsible for Berengetti's death.
  • The Sting: The Hulk reveals a double-cross; what appeared to be a drug deal was actually a sting operation coordinated with the Las Vegas Police Department to trap the mobster Sam Striker.
  • Battle with Mr. Frost: The final confrontation centers on Mr. Frost, a cybernetic villain with ice-based powers. During the brutal fight, the Hulk accidentally rips Frost's head off, only to be shocked when the severed head continues to talk. The villain finally explodes in a flurry of snow and ice.
