The Infinity War # 1 1992 NM

The Infinity War # 1 is the first issue of the 1992 six-issue limited series, released with a cover date of June 1992. It is the direct sequel to Jim Starlin's best-selling The Infinity Gauntlet and features the return of the cosmic threat, a "new" Thanos.

• Plot Overview: After Adam Warlock takes possession of the Infinity Gauntlet, the living cosmic entity known as Eternity is left comatose. This event causes Adam Warlock to "cough up" the good and evil sides of his personality: a peaceful, spiritually focused woman who calls herself the Goddess, and a cold, calculating man who calls himself the Magus. The Magus begins creating an army of "doppelgangers"—evil versions of Earth's heroes—to conquer reality. The issue concludes with a reformed Thanos joining the heroes to stop the Magus and save the universe.
