The Jurassic League # 1 2022 NM-

The Jurassic League #1, published by DC Comics on May 10, 2022, is the debut of a six-issue limited series that reimagines the Justice League as anthropomorphic dinosaurs on a prehistoric Earth. Co-written by Daniel Warren Johnson and Juan Gedeon, the story presents a "Modern Stone-Age" take on classic superhero origins. 

Storyline Overview

Set on an alternate reality known as Earth-27, the issue introduces a world where sentient dinosaurs protect "small beasts" (humans) from savage predators. The plot mirrors familiar origins with prehistoric twists: 

• Supersaur (Superman): A super-powered Brachiosaurus who escaped his dying home planet in a rocket and was raised by human cavemen.
• Bat Walker (Batman): An Allosaurus (or T-Rex in some depictions) who witnessed his parents' murder by the Jokerzard and now strikes fear into evildoers in "Growltham City".
• Wonderdon (Wonder Woman): A Triceratops princess from the island of Trimyscira who has visions of a coming darkness and travels to the mainland to join the fight.

The first issue establishes the "heroic trinity" and glimpses of their prehistoric rivals:

• Heroes: Features early appearances of Aquanyx (a Baryonyx version of Aquaman) and a cameo vision of Flashraptor.
• Villains: Introduces dinosaur versions of classic rogues, including Jokerzard, Blackmantasaurus, Giganta, and Brontozarro.
• Overarching Threat: The series sets up a conflict against the prehistoric version of Darkseid.
