The Lobo Annual #1 (released July 29, 2015) features a high-stakes confrontation between the "Main Man" and the Sinestro Corps, serving as a setup for a major crossover event between the two titles. Written by Cullen Bunn with art by Robson Rocha, the story follows Lobo as he is hired to assassinate Thaal Sinestro himself.
Story Synopsis
The narrative, titled "Little Orphan Lobo," begins with Lobo seeking information to draw out his elusive target.
- The Trap: Lobo travels to a decommissioned space prison, the Reaper Prison, which is still being run by a warden unaware of its closure. After slaughtering the guards, Lobo captures several Korugarian prisoners to use as bait for Sinestro.
- The Confrontation: The plan works, but instead of Sinestro, a group of Yellow Lanterns (including Soranik Natu and Arkillo) arrives first and destroys Lobo's ship.
- The Twist: After a brutal skirmish, Lobo manages to place trackers on the Korugarians before they are "rescued" by the Corps. He later tracks them to New Korugar, where he finally faces Sinestro in a duel that reveals the entire contract was part of a larger, more complex scheme.
