The Multiversity Guidebook # 1, released on January 28, 2015, is a 48-page oversized one-shot (with a cover date of March 2015) that serves as the definitive reference and sixth chapter of Grant Morrison’s The Multiversity saga. It functions as both a narrative adventure and a comprehensive manual for the 52 parallel worlds of the DC Multiverse.

The guidebook provides an "encyclopedic" tour of DC's multiversal landscape, including:

  • The Concordance: A detailed list of all 52 Earths in the Orrery of Worlds, each illustrated by a different top-tier artist (e.g., Gary Frank, Nicola Scott, Chris Sprouse).
  • The History of Crisis: A complete recounting of DC's reality-shattering events, such as Crisis on Infinite Earths and Final Crisis.
  • The Map of the Multiverse: A visual representation of all known existence, including the Sphere of the Gods.

"The Map of known Existence"

The issue features a dual narrative set on disparate Earths:

  • Earth-42 (Little League): The "Chibi" Batman (Li'l Batman) discovers a mysterious Multiverse Cube left by the villainous Sivanas. After his teammates are killed by the Gentry, he uses the cube to escape to Earth-17.
  • Earth-51 (Kamandi): In a post-apocalyptic future, Kamandi and Ben Boxer uncover an ancient tomb containing "forbidden" comic books that detail the history of the Multiverse.
  • Conclusion: The narrative threads converge as the House of Heroes—a multiversal headquarters—is attacked by the Gentry, and the Empty Hand is revealed as the ultimate threat raising the dead heroes of Earth-42.
