The Original Ghost Rider Rides Again # 2 August 1991 is the second issue of a 7-part series that reprinted classic Johnny Blaze adventures from the original 1970s/80s run. This 52-page issue includes two primary stories.

  • "Freaks": Reprinted from Ghost Rider #70.
    • The story follows Johnny Blaze at the Quentin Carnival, where he is practicing a new entrance for his act.
    • A man named Renaldo, working for a mysterious employer, attempts to recruit the carnival's "Monster Man," Jeremy. After being rejected and thrown out by Johnny, Renaldo returns with a van and unleashes an army of freaks to attack the carnival.
    • Ghost Rider must defend the carnival's strongman and other performers against the Freakmaster and his disfigured henchmen.
  • "The Tears of Adam Henderson": Reprinted from Ghost Rider #71.
    • The secondary story features a young, down-on-his-luck man named Adam Henderson who becomes possessed by a "creature of darkness".
    • The Spirit of Vengeance intervenes to exorcise the entity and set things right for the possessed man.

This issue marks the first appearances or significant early roles for several characters within the reprinted series:

  • The Freakmaster: The primary antagonist of the first story.
  • Eliot Franklin (The Clown): A character who later becomes a notable member of the Circus of Crime.
  • Supporting Carnival Members: Includes Jeremy (the Monster Man), Corky Franklin, and Cynthia.
  • Writers: Roger Stern and J.M. DeMatteis.
  • Artists: Bob Budiansky, Don Perlin, Dave Simons, and Danny Bulanadi.
  • Cover Art: Pencils by Bob Budiansky with inks by Dave Simons
