The Penguin # 1 Revenge is for the Birds 2023 NM

The Penguin # 1 Revenge is for the Birds 2023  is the debut of a hard-boiled crime series published by DC Comics on August 22, 2023. Written by Tom King with art by Rafael de Latorre, the story reimagines Oswald Cobblepot’s life following his faked death in the main Batman titles. 

• A New Life: Oswald has "retired" to Metropolis under the alias "Mr. Cobb". He lives a quiet, seemingly reformed life running a flower shop called "Blossoms" and is engaged to a woman named Rita Wells.
• The Ultimatum: His peace is shattered when Agent Nuri Espinoza, working under Amanda Waller, confronts him. The U.S. government forces him to return to Gotham as their pawn to reclaim his criminal empire from his own children, who now rule the Iceberg Lounge.
• The Frame Narrative: The story is bookended by a grim flash-forward set in the future, depicting Batman and the Penguin dying together on a sinking boat in the Gotham River. 
• Oswald Cobblepot: Portrayed as a "ticking bomb of malice" who proves he hasn't lost his lethality by killing his tailor at the end of the issue.
