The Spectacular Spider-Man Annual #10, titled "Into the Microverse," was published by Marvel Comics in October 1990. It serves as the second part of the three-part "Spidey's Totally Tiny Adventure" storyline that spanned the 1990 Spider-Man annuals.
Plot Summary
Following the events of Amazing Spider-Man Annual #24, Spider-Man has been reduced to ant-size by a shrinking gas.
- Domestic Chaos: The issue begins with a shrunken Peter Parker returning home to a shocked Mary Jane, only to be sent flying out a window by a sneeze and surviving an encounter with a bird.
- The Microverse Descent: Seeking help, he visits Harry Osborn's lab. While Harry attempts to reverse the process using a positron energy beam, the procedure fails, and Spider-Man continues to shrink past the molecular level and into the Microverse.
- Captivity: In the Microverse, Spider-Man is captured by a highly advanced society and eventually dragged before the villainous Psycho-Man.
Backup Stories
The 68-page annual also features three significant backup tales:
- "Pale Reflection": A Prowler story (Hobie Brown) featuring early artwork by Todd McFarlane.
- "The Choice": The Wizard and the Trapster attempt to recruit a reformed Sandman back into the Frightful Four.
- "What I Did on My Summer Vacation": A solo adventure for Rocket Racer set in Ohio.
