Thor Annual # 1 2021 NM-

Thor Annual # 1 (2021), a tie-in to the "Infinite Destinies" event, features Thor in the main story written and drawn by Aaron Kuder as he battles a dark, twisted version of himself. The issue also contains a backup story as part five of the "Infinite Fury" saga. 

"The Great Game!"

The main story takes place during a World Tree celebration, where leaders of the Ten Realms (including Hawkeye as a surprise guest) are gathered in Alfheim to commemorate the peace established after the War of the Realms. 

• The Threat: A mysterious new villain named Valg crashes the party. Valg, who comes from a dimension where his people feed off chaos, aims to use Thor to cause a massive war and provide his people with an infinite food source.
• Thor vs. Thor: Valg creates an evil doppelganger of the God of Thunder, a "dark, twisted version of Thor" called Thor Bor-Kin, God of Blood and Thunder, determined to rule all the realms with an iron fist.
• The Battle: Thor must fight this evil version of himself. The battle rages, but the main Thor realizes that his doppelganger is not truly worthy and thus has none of the genuine Power of Thor, only a twisted appearance of it.
• Resolution: Using this knowledge, the true Thor defeats his doppelganger with a single blow. Valg, seeing his plans unravel, teleports away. The story highlights the concept of worthiness and ends with the League of Realms heroes arriving to help clean up the aftermath. 

"Infinite Fury" Part 5

The annual also includes a segment of the ongoing "Infinite Fury" backup story written by Jed MacKay with art by Juan Ferreyra. This part follows Nick Fury Jr. as he struggles with hallucinations and is confronted by a Nighthawk from a different reality, tying into the larger "Infinite Destinies" narrative about the Infinity Stones finding new hosts.
