Thor Annual # 1 2023 NM-

Thor Annual # 1 (2023), with the main story written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly and art by Ibraim Roberson, is a self-contained story that pits Thor, in his new role as the All-Father, against a cosmically powered M.O.D.O.K. who has taken control of the Nine Realms. 

Who is M.Y.T.H.O.S.?

The primary storyline, "Who is Mythos?", revolves around Thor's battle with M.O.D.O.K., who has evolved into a new, god-like entity called M.Y.T.H.O.S. (Master of Yggdrasil, the Tyrant of Humanity, the Omnipotent Savior). 

• The Conflict: M.O.D.O.K., fueled by revenge and a refusal to be a pawn any longer, fuses himself with the shattered fragments of the Bifrost (Rainbow Bridge) and the World Tree, gaining immense cosmic power and seizing control of all Ten Realms except Asgard.
• Thor's Challenge: Thor, as the new All-Father, must step in to regain control of his realms, but he finds M.Y.T.H.O.S. to be a greater threat than anticipated, one that his usual strength cannot defeat.
• Inspiration from Midgard: After an initial, devastating loss, Thor retreats to a mind-wiped Midgard, where he encounters a version of Peter Parker (Spider-Man) who, despite not remembering his superhero past, still embodies the heroic spirit. Peter's words inspire Thor to keep fighting the "battles you can't win".
• The Resolution: Reinvigorated, Thor returns to battle M.Y.T.H.O.S. and defeats him not just with force, but by using the power of his heart and his new perspective as the All-Father. He traps the defeated M.O.D.O.K. in a mirror to force him to look inward and find his own answers. 

Bonus Prologue: Immortal Thor

The annual also includes a short, exclusive prologue for the subsequent Immortal Thor series, written by Al Ewing and with art by Martín Cóccolo. In this segment, Thor reforges Mjolnir to remove its cracks, asserting his identity as both All-Father and Thor and setting the stage for his new adventures.
