Total Recall Movie Special # 1, released by DC Comics in 1990, is the authorized comic book adaptation of the hit science fiction film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The 64-page one-shot translates the film's mind-bending plot into a visual narrative. 

Set in the year 2084, the story follows Douglas Quaid, a construction worker haunted by recurring dreams of Mars and a mysterious woman. 

• The Rekall Procedure: To fulfill his longing for Mars, Quaid visits "Rekall Inc.," a company that implants false memories of vacations. He chooses a package to remember himself as a secret agent.
• Memory Malfunction: During the implantation, something goes wrong, and Quaid’s suppressed memories of being a real secret agent on Mars begin to surface.
• On the Run: Quaid discovers his entire life on Earth was a false memory. He is hunted by agents of the Mars administrator, Vilos Cohaagen, and even his own "wife," Lori.
• The Mars Rebellion: Quaid travels to Mars and joins a resistance movement of mutants fighting against Cohaagen’s tyrannical control over the planet's air supply.
• The Climax: Quaid successfully activates an ancient alien reactor that melts the planet's ice core, creating a breathable atmosphere and saving the Martian population.
