Transformers #26, released on November 12, 2025, marks a major shift in the series as writer Robert Kirkman and artist Dan Mora take over the creative reins. The issue centers on the fallout of the Autobots' new alliance with the U.S. military and explores a surprising change in loyalty for the Decepticon Seeker, Thundercracker.

Plot Summary

  • The Thundercracker/Skywarp Conflict: Following a traumatizing experience in Cobra-La, Thundercracker attempts to forcibly remove Skywarp from the Ark's computer, Teletraan-1, which would be fatal for Skywarp. Optimus Prime intervenes, convincing Thundercracker that the Autobots can safely restore his brother.
  • A Shattered Bond: Although the Autobots successfully repair Skywarp, he immediately attacks them. When Thundercracker tries to reason with him, Skywarp rejects his brother as "weak" and returns to the Decepticons. In a significant twist, Thundercracker refuses to follow him, choosing instead to stay with the Autobots.
  • Human Machinations: General Flagg provides the Autobots with Energon and the bodies of fallen allies Mirage and Bulkhead. Meanwhile, Miles Mayhem (of M.A.S.K.) is secretly using scans of Optimus Prime to develop his own transforming technology, even murdering a technician to keep the secret from Flagg.
  • On Cybertron: Elita One sends Cliffjumper on a dangerous mission to retrieve components from Shockwave's destroyed space bridge, as she grows increasingly frustrated by the Autobots' focus on Earth.
  • Creative Team: Written by Robert Kirkman, with art by Dan Mora, colors by Mike Spicer, and lettering by Rus Wooton.
