Tribe # 1, released in March 1993, is the premiere issue of an independent superhero comic published by Image Comics. Created by Todd Johnson (writer) and Larry Stroman (artist), it achieved historic sales, selling over a million copies and becoming the best-selling African-American comic from African-American creators of all time.
The series is based around the adventures of a predominantly African-American superhero team operating out of Brooklyn, New York.
