The 1990 three-issue Twilight comic book series from DC Comics is a science-fiction story that reimagines several of DC's classic space heroes from the 1950s and 1960s in a dark, revisionist epic.
The miniseries focuses on an aging and unbalanced Tommy Tomorrow, a renegade hero, and his conflict with his former ally, Karel Sorensen of the Star Rovers.
The main plot of the first issue (and the series as a whole) revolves around the story of Karel Sorensen, who becomes a "living god" after being caught in an explosion with a race of immortal creatures called the Methuseloids. The explosion was orchestrated by Tommy Tomorrow, who wanted to use the creatures to achieve immortality himself. The series follows Tomorrow's attempt to stop Sorensen, only for him to ultimately absorb Sorensen's power and become a tyrant.
