Ultimate Wolverine # 1 2025 NM-

Ultimate Wolverine # 1 (January 15, 2025) is part of Marvel's new Ultimate Universe (Earth-6160) and introduces a new, brutal version of the character known as the Winter Soldier, a brainwashed assassin with adamantium claws deployed by the villainous Maker's Council. The issue centers on a mission where the Winter Soldier is sent to eliminate a mutant resistance group, forcing a clash with his former friends. 

The story is set in a dark reality where the world is ruled from the shadows by the Maker's Council, and the Eurasian Republic (led by Colossus, Magik, and Omega Red) exploits mutants. 

• The Maker's Weapon: Logan, a survivor from North America, was captured by the Eurasian Republic, experimented upon, brainwashed, and turned into their most lethal asset: the Winter Soldier. He is a living weapon with a masked face, no memories, and an unbreakable skeleton.
• The Mission: The Winter Soldier is deployed to eliminate "The Opposition," a resistance group fighting for mutant liberation.
• The Confrontation: During the raid on the Opposition's hideout (a church), the Winter Soldier brutally slaughters everyone, including Mystique. He then confronts Nightcrawler, who recognizes the masked figure as "Logan" and tries to reason with him.
• The Tease: Though the mission is a success and the Winter Soldier is a ruthless killing machine, the interaction with Nightcrawler at the end of the issue hints that the mental conditioning may not be complete and that some part of Logan's true identity is still buried beneath the programming.
