Vampirella # 1 2017 is about Vampirella waking up a thousand years in the future to a drastically changed world and trying to navigate her place in it. 

The story, part of the "Forbidden Fruit" arc written by Paul Cornell and illustrated by Jimmy Broxton, sees Vampirella return after a prolonged absence to a future Earth she barely recognizes. 

• A New World: Vampirella finds the future to be a strange, almost dystopian place where the atmosphere is laced with both hope and fear, and even blood "has a far different taste".
