Venom War: Carnage # 1 2024 NM

Venom War: Carnage #1 is the first issue of a three-part limited series tie-in to the 2024 Marvel Venom War event. Released on August 21, 2024, it features a "god-level" Carnage who has returned to Earth to pursue his own agenda amidst the conflict between Eddie and Dylan Brock.

Story Summary

The issue portrays Carnage as a deadly wildcard with goals that do not align with either side of the primary Venom War. 

• Obsession with Alchemax: Carnage is fixated on a powerful "symbiote-killing" chemical weapon from Alchemax that nearly destroyed him in a previous encounter (Carnage #8).
• Brutal Experiments: To understand and neutralize this threat, he conducts horrific experiments on hostages in abandoned subway tunnels, exposing them to the weapon's corrosive power source.
• Infiltration: He tracks down Alchemax employees Sally Christiansen and Finn Taylor to uncover the origins of the "K-Program"—a project that experiments on prison inmates using symbiote-based technology.
• Multiversal Godhood: The story establishes that after killing Venoms across the multiverse, Carnage has achieved godlike power, making him an unstoppable force going up against human targets.
