Vigilante # 2 1984 VF+

Vigilante #2, published by DC Comics in January 1984, focuses on the heavy emotional toll of justice through its story titled "Guilt!". Written by Marv Wolfman and illustrated by Keith Pollard, this issue is a defining moment for the protagonist, Adrian Chase. 

Storyline Overview

The plot revolves around Adrian Chase’s struggle with the consequences of his dual life as a district attorney and a masked vigilante:

• The Error: Chase discovers that a man he prosecuted and sent to prison as a DA—and later brutally attacked as the Vigilante—was actually innocent of the crime.
• The Conflict: Consumed by remorse, Adrian attempts to abandon his vigilante persona and return to his father’s law firm.
• The Resolution: He quickly finds that working within the legal system often requires him to help actual criminals escape justice. Disillusioned, he decides to return to his mission as the Vigilante.
