Web of Spider-Man #80, published in September 1991, is the second and final part of the "This Blood is My Blood" storyline. This issue concludes the arc where the cyborg mobster Silvermane attempts to use Spider-Man’s blood to rejuvenate his own body.
Plot Summary: "This Blood is My Blood" Part 2
Following the ambush in Central Park from the previous issue, Spider-Man is held captive in a secret laboratory beneath Manhattan.
- Black Cat Team-Up: Worried about her husband's disappearance, Mary Jane turns to Felicia Hardy (Black Cat) for help. The Black Cat successfully tracks Peter down using a spider-tracer, leading to a team-up to take down Silvermane.
- The Identity Scare: During the battle, Spider-Man’s mask is partially removed in front of Silvermane's cameras. Peter manages to hide his face, and a subsequent explosion at the hideout destroys the potential footage of his secret identity.
- The Twist Ending: While Spider-Man and Black Cat believe they have defeated Silvermane, it is revealed that they were actually fighting an android duplicate. The true Silvermane survived the encounter, viewing the battle as a minor setback.
