• The Resurrection: A cult devoted to Knull, led by Scorn (Tanis Nieves), uses a sample of the Grendel symbiote to reanimate Cletus's corpse.
• The Transformation: Cletus consumes Scorn and her symbiote, bonding with the Grendel sample to become Dark Carnage—a more powerful, skeletal version of the villain.
• The Mission: Reborn with a connection to the dark god Knull, Carnage realizes he must consume the "codexes" (traces of symbiote DNA) left behind in every person who has ever bonded with a symbiote to awaken his master.
