Who's Who: Update '87 # 1 1987 VF/NM

Who's Who: Update '87 # 1, released on May 5, 1987, is the first issue of a five-part limited series designed to update DC's comprehensive character encyclopedia following the massive changes of Crisis on Infinite Earths. 

Unlike standard narrative comics, this series is a biographical compendium. It provides technical data, origins, and power descriptions for characters in the newly merged post-Crisis DC Universe. This specific 1987 update was necessary to include new characters created since the original 1985 series and to document major "retcons" to existing icons. 

The issue covers characters alphabetically from All-Star Squadron to Catalyst. Highlights include: 

• First Entries: This issue contains the very first biographical entry for Booster Gold, who did not exist when the original series was published. Other "new" entries include Amazing Grace, Artemis Crock, Axis Amerika, Blackguard, and Bloodsport.
• Revised Icons: Characters whose histories were significantly altered after Crisis received "Revised" or "Updated" entries. This includes Batman, Batgirl, Bizarro, Captain Atom, and Captain Marvel (Billy Batson).
• Teams and Locations: Beyond individuals, it profiles groups like the Young All-Stars and key settings like Belle Reve prison. 
• Editors/Writers: Created and overseen by Len Wein, Marv Wolfman, and Robert Greenberger.
• Artists: The issue features a wraparound cover by Joe Brozowski and Dick Giordano, with interior profile art provided by a rotating cast of top DC talent to define the "house style" of the era.
