Wonder Girl #1 (published on May 18, 2021 by DC Comics) is the launch issue of an ongoing series introducing Yara Flor as the new Wonder Girl. Spinning out of DC’s Future State event, this issue marks the official insertion of the character into modern, mainline DC continuity under the Infinite Frontier publishing initiative.

Plot Summary: "Homecoming"

The premiere issue kicks off a narrative arc that moves away from traditional Greek myth structures to integrate indigenous Brazilian and Amazonian mythology:

• The Journey: Yara Flor, a young woman raised in Boise, Idaho, has always felt an underlying void regarding her origin. She takes a flight back to her birthplace in Brazil to discover her roots.
• The Prophecy: Unbeknownst to Yara, her return to the Amazon rainforest triggers an ancient prophecy. Her physical presence immediately alerts different mythological pantheons and factions.
• The Gathering Factions: Her arrival triggers immediate panic and strategic moves from powerful entities who view her as a threat or a chosen weapon. The Greek gods on Mount Olympus, the classic Amazons of Themyscira, and the hidden Bana-Mighdall warriors all begin tracking her.
• Divine Intervention: The comic culminates with Hera choosing her champion and sending Yara a powerful mystical weapon—her signature golden bola.
