X-Men Classic # 67 1992 VF

X-Men Classic # 67 is a reprint issue that contains the story from 1982's Uncanny X-Men #156, in which the X-Men team up with the Starjammers to pursue the Brood and Deathbird in space. The original X-Men were captured by the Brood and implanted with queen embryos, which the comic explores in detail. 

The main story, titled "Rescue Mission" (reprinted from Uncanny X-Men #156), takes place in the Brood's alien city. 

• Carol Danvers (Ms. Marvel) is being experimented on by the Brood due to her unique Kree-human DNA, which makes her a subject of curiosity and resistant to their modifications.
• Wolverine is sneaking through the city, eventually finding Carol and helping her escape the lab. They decide to steal Lilandra's yacht to get away.
• Cyclops is experiencing a drug-induced dream where he hallucinates his teammates transforming into Brood, a psychological tactic used by the aliens. He snaps out of it using his psychic defense training and finds Storm in a deep, tormented meditation, struggling with an internal battle against the emerging Brood Queen persona.
• Havok and Corsair (Cyclops' father) return to Earth and relate how the X-Men were captured. Corsair vows to rescue them but refuses Havok's help, calling it a "killing mission".
• The X-Men in space split into teams. Wolverine wants to kill the Brood Queen, but Cyclops stops him, adhering to the "X-Men don't kill" principle. During the ensuing fight, the X-Men use the Brood's unwillingness to harm potential queen hosts to their advantage.
• Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler attempt to secure the yacht. Kitty phases a Brood warrior into space when it attacks her in the airlock.
• Escape: The X-Men, Carol Danvers, and Lilandra all manage to board the yacht just as Wolverine is about to kill the Queen. They escape, but not before the X-Men are all fully implanted with the Brood eggs.
