Absolute Wonder Woman #1 (released October 23, 2024) is the debut of a darker, magic-heavy reinvention of Diana of Themyscira within DC’s Absolute Universe. Written by Kelly Thompson with art by Hayden Sherman, this version of Diana is not a princess from a Mediterranean paradise, but the "Last Amazon" raised in the literal depths of Hell. 

Plot & Origin: The Last Amazon

• Exile in Hell: Following an ancient crime committed by the Amazons against Zeus, the infant Diana is banished to a hellish wasteland known as the Wild Isle.
• Raised by an Enemy: The sun god Apollo leaves the baby with the sorceress Circe, forbidding her from ever speaking the word "Amazon". Despite her initial coldness, Circe raises Diana, teaching her magic and morals while Diana protects her from hell-beasts.
• Hellish Equipment: Instead of traditional armor, this Diana wields a massive Athena Blade and the Nemesis Lasso, a red, magic-infused rope. She rides Pegasus, reimagined here as a giant black-metal skeleton-winged horse.
• Arrival on Earth: As an adult, Diana enters the surface world to defend Gateway City from an invasion of "Harbingers" and a monstrous entity called the Tetracide.
