All-New Hawkeye # 1 2015 VF/NM

All-New Hawkeye # 1 March 4, 2015 (Volume 5) marked a creative shift for the title following the acclaimed Matt Fraction run. The issue is the first in a five-part series that explores the mantle of Hawkeye through two parallel timelines. 

The narrative is split between a present-day S.H.I.E.L.D. mission and flashbacks to the childhood of Clint Barton. 

• Present Day: Clint and Kate Bishop (his partner and fellow Hawkeye) infiltrate a secret HYDRA base in Antarctica. Their mission is to recover a mysterious "secret weapon" known as Project Communion. Upon discovering that the "weapon" consists of three young children with electrodes in their heads, Kate becomes determined to rescue them, creating immediate tension with S.H.I.E.L.D. and Clint.
• Flashbacks: These scenes follow a young Clint and his brother Barney as they run away from a foster home. The story emphasizes the bond between the brothers, with Barney acting as the mature protector of his younger sibling as they eventually find a new home at the Carson Traveling Circus. 

Artist Ramon Perez uses two distinct visual styles to differentiate the timelines: 

• Present Day: Clean, modern comic book lines with vibrant colors.
• Flashbacks: Soft, lush watercolors that give the past a dreamlike, nostalgic feel. 

• Writer: Jeff Lemire (his Marvel debut).
• Artist/Penciler: Ramón K. Pérez.
• Colorist: Ian Herring (sharing color duties with Pérez on the watercolors).
• Editor: Sana Amanat.
