Batman # 112 2016 NM

Batman # 112, published by DC Comics on September 7, 2021, is the first part of the major "Fear State" storyline. The issue focuses on the escalation of Scarecrow's plan and the chaos caused by the Magistrate's takeover of Gotham, with a compromised Batman struggling to fight back. 

• Scarecrow's Plan: Having manipulated Simon Saint, Scarecrow unleashes a city-wide assault using a new, more potent form of fear toxin that incorporates mind-control technology.
• A Vulnerable Batman: After escaping Scarecrow's clutches, an injured and hallucinating Batman makes a rare admission of vulnerability, sending out a distress call to the Bat-Family as he can no longer trust his own mind.
• The Anti-Oracle: A new antagonist known as the Anti-Oracle (or Seer) emerges, spreading fake news and propaganda across all communication channels to incite widespread fear and violence among Gotham's citizens.
• The Magistrate's Response: Simon Saint's private paramilitary force, the Magistrate, is given full authority to enforce martial law in the city, but their lead agent, Peacekeeper-01, is driven mad by the fear toxin, going on a rampage.
• First Appearance: The issue features the first full appearance of the new character Peacekeeper-X, introduced by Simon Saint as an off-the-books agent intended to bring in Peacekeeper-01. 
• A Mismatch: Clownhunter attempts to take on Scarecrow one-on-one but quickly realizes he is out of his depth.
• The Fall: The fight ends disastrously with Scarecrow tossing Clownhunter off a building. The young vigilante experiences a powerful delusion while falling, highlighting his inexperience and the dangers of operating alone in a city consumed by fear.
