G.I. Combat # 0 2012 NM-

G.I. Combat # 0, published by DC Comics on September 5, 2012, is a "Zero Month" issue for The New 52 relaunch. This anthology issue provides origins and expanded mythology for two distinct war stories: the gritty "Unknown Soldier" and the dinosaur-filled "The War That Time Forgot". 

• "The Unknown Soldier": This segment explores the origin and genetic legacy of the Unknown Soldier. Rather than a single character history, writers Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti introduce a new concept where the protagonist experiences the "genetic memories" of previous soldiers who bore the mantle in conflicts ranging from the Revolutionary War to ancient Rome.
• "The War That Time Forgot": Set in a primal land populated by dinosaurs and saber-tooth tigers, this story follows an unnamed soldier struggling to maintain his humanity while fighting prehistoric monsters.
